Eating for Health

eating for health

First, I'm not a trained nutritionist, biologist or medical practitioner, the information below is based on my personal learning (self guided) and learning from experts in the space of food for healing (#tylertolmantt, #DrPeterDingle).

Attending talks and training with these individuals has really opened my eyes and blown my mind!

I'm already thankfully, I've used lifestyle and food to heal my body, having had a great interest in and brought up with Ayurvedic practices for health.

But what I learned was insane, so much contradicted the way I had programmed myself with mainstream information on nutrition, which seems, more often than not, to hide lots of research information and results that "they" (powers that be) don't want us to know because it doesn't serve them. (That statement is by no way to encourage conspiracy theory discussions, it's from the very small new knowledge that I have).

Just imagine for a moment that you were in the wild - forest, woods, jungle, fields, whatever you like - then see yourself wondering around, and hunger sets in. What do you do? Now I know for a fact, that those of you who are meat eaters will say, "I'll just go kill something innit", well good luck when all you have to do it is your bare hands and the animals you're like to try and kills are all faster or meaner than you. So you run around chasing animals for a little while and then you stop because you've burned a lot of energy...and spot a group of people picking berries from trees and eating them - 'interesting' you think..and go an join them. They have a small pile of berries that they've been picking for the last 5 minutes and tell you that it'll keep them going for the next couple of days. 'Interesting' you think...and you tell them how you've been busting your arse chasing deer and rabbits around the wild, they ask "why would you do that?" And go on to tell you "there's so much food on the trees and in the ground, plenty for all of us. If we really need to, which is incredibly rare, only then will we eat animals, they're far to difficult, time and energy consuming to catch."

Okay so lovely story, or you've got your back up and are ready to write a "piece of your mind" comment, either is okay. Even with the latter you probably got it, whether you choose to consciously accept that you would do that same or not...your subconscious and your body will.

So what's the learning here? Before I reveal, if you don't know already I am a vegetarian. Regardless of that when I learnt this I still thought 'OMG, how bloody obvious is that, that I didn't know it already!' So here's the lesson:

Eat the things that are naturally found in abundance in the wild, whichever wild that is, but in nature. Mother Nature provides us with an abundance of foods that support and promote our health in the same way that she does for all of ear other organisms - large and small. Disrupt the balance and she retaliates.

This was a small piece of my new learning that is still ongoing and lifetime based. Whether you're a vego or partial to lots of meat on your plate let me know what you're thinking.
