Recently I watched the documentary Future Dreaming HD that got me thinking about words and language.
How the words we use and the way that we use them creates separation, from each other and from our planet. The morning after watching this documentary, I was going about my usual morning getting ready activities and listening to my 'Love Life' Spotify playlist and the song Absolutely Everybody (the Aussie Olympic theme song) played whilst I was in the shower.
Singing along as I usually do in my karaoke way, the words 'we're all the same, players in the game', sung out loud and this spring-boarded my thoughts to the term 'Human Race'. Now I do love this song because it celebrates us all as one...but this term human race that popped into my head got me thinking about why are we the human RACE?
The word creates the illusion of needing to get somewhere, that there is a winner and a loser (unless your giving ribbons only for participation!), and that being right here, in this present moment, is not where happiness or success exists.
We are humans, we don't collectively refer to lions as the Lion Race, or penguins as the Penguin Race, so why are humans referred to as the Human Race. We are all humans, I urge us all to be more Humans BEing. When we simply BE humans, we can create shifts that take us out of stress and into creativity, calm and appreciation.
When we start BEing we let go of an insatiable addiction to the future and become more present, start to notice more of the abundance that we already have (micro and macro).
And it's this state that creates SPACE to dream our future into existence.
Easier said that done!
I get that. I hear you...
It takes practice and a continuing choosing to be present, choosing to be grateful, and choosing to take actions that are aligned to your dreams.
Let me know what you're choosing to be in the comments.
Love,
Bhavna xx
