Balance is when the body is not in stress - that is it IS in a state of homeostasis.
When we are in a state of balance we allow ourselves to access a higher potential of our minds...now the last time that you were in a stressful situation, didn't you (in hindsight) remember all of the things you wish you had said instead of what you actually did?
(pause for all the nodding of the soooo many times you've done this! p.s. me too!)
One quick and in the moment way to create balance is by using whole brain postures. Whole brain postures are when you cross your limbs over the centre line of your body, in doing this you encourage the connection of your left and right brain hemispheres. An example is, crossing your ankles and crossing your wrists and placing them in your lap. This is a great one to do whilst sitting in a meeting, reading emails at your desk...or even if you're standing and you can cross your wrists behind your back 😉
Note: If you're a little on the wobbly side of life, don't jump right into the standing version 😋
p.p.s yoga actually has many whole brain postures (asanas)...it's not by chance.
A more advanced way to create more balance is by removing stress from the body is with PSYCH-K®. Whilst whole brain postures are great at reducing stress in the moment, they do not change the way you think and feel about that annoying or scary thing that caused you stress in the first place.
With PSYCH-K®, we can change the subconscious program whilst removing the stress out of your body as well.
Afterwards, when you think about the annoying or scary thing, you'll not only think about it differently, (perhaps more peaceful or sometimes people forget the thing entirely), you'll also FEEL differently about it.
